Sooner or Later

Traveling to breathtaking places would be much enjoyable to spend in this summer. I personally opt 3 must-visit places not before you die, but before they are gone in the future. Whether it‘s due to high evaporation, rising sea level, melting glaciers or increasing human population, global warming rapidly alters the landscape of this Mother Earth. Climate change is a current issue we need to be concerned.

Venice, Italy

Known as “The City of Water”, Venice is enlisted as The World Heritage Site together with its lagoon. There is no city on this planet which is consisted of many islands and linked by bridges as well as separated by canals. Threatened by flood tides from the Adriatic Sea, the city has been longer sinking each year. No one can predict how long Venice able to stand above the water, but obviously rising sea level due to global warming makes it faster.

The Dead Sea

Shimmering beauty under sunshine, the Dead Sea is around 420 meters below sea level in which minerals flowing continually. Rich in minerals lets it be very prominent for health treatment and skin-care production. Although there is no exit or outlet, it is located in very dry region that causes water only lose through high evaporation of sunny weather. Considered as the world’s saltiest body of water, it is shrinking and estimated will vanish in 2050 along with ecosystem around. Further, inflow to the Sea has been decreasing because of the expanding use of water from Jordan River – the only water supplier - by higher population of Israelis, Jordanians and Palestinians.

Maldives

Located in the Indian Ocean, Maldives is formed by small islands or atolls to be precise. It is also the lowest country in this planetwith an average ground level of only 1,5 meters above sea level. Unfortunately, this beautiful country could be engulfed by the ocean as the sea currently rises around one centimeter every year. As one of the most endangered nations due to flooding, Maldives is predicted as the first underwater country if both carbon emission and global warming are not stopped soon.
